The project
At the beginning of July 2017, the first of our own vines were planted directly in front of our doors. Over a period of three years, the plants were grown and cared for by our gardener Philipp Vogel and Mathias Brunner from Brunner Weinmanufaktur. In autumn 2020, the first harvest of the Solaris grapes took place. Since spring 2021, our guests can enjoy the first vintage of Kastanienbaum wine in the lakeside restaurant.
The wine
For our white wine we have chosen the Solaris variety, which with its fruity character goes wonderfully with a stylish aperitif. But the grape variety alone is not enough for a high-quality wine. With Mathias Brunner from Brunner Weinmanufaktur in Hitzkirch, we not only have a renowned partner for vinification on board, but also one who shares our enthusiasm for a good drop of wine.
The vines
Thanks to a crowdfunding project and many supporters, the dream of owning our own vines could be realised. Each of the 200 vines has found its own personal sponsor. That is why each of our vines is unique and bears its own name. We are proud to introduce you to our supporters on the signs.
